PARENTS BRIEFING AT SJK(T) RAWANG (TIC)

An exhilarating parents briefing session was held at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Tamil) Rawang on the 13th November 2009 in regards to the up-coming Total Immersion Camp (TIC).

About 50-60 parents turned up for the event. Representatives from EWRF were Ms. S.Selvamalar (Executive Director) & the TIC Coordinators which included Mr. Sugu, Mr. Arvin and Mr. Ganesh. CHILD Foundation’s representatives were also present on that day to take the opportunity of advancing their events.
An inspiring motivational speaker Mr.Ganesan, kick-started the event by giving a short but effective speech. He advised parents to show more concern to their child as parents nowadays seem to throw the burden of upbringing to the teachers. Teachers can only teach and guide the kids but the holistic approach of upbringing of the kids lies on the parents.
Ms. Selvamalar later on spoke of how the TIC (Total Immersion Camp) and TEC (Total Empowerment Camp) can make students to become quality individuals and be matured. Challenges will arise when students go to secondary school the next year, and this camp will nurture participants to strive out in the community. She also added information about TIC & TEC camp and encouraged parents to get their children to sign-up for the camp.

After a short speech by CHILD’s representative, parents were given the opportunity to collect TIC application forms. The response from all parents was very good as more than half of the crowd attending curiously enquired about the program. Touchingly enough one of the parents wrote a short appreciative note that was passed by her child to Ms. Selvamalar.
