Civil Society Intervention Plus

A long-term support programme for at-risk students — a 21-day camp in Standard 6, followed by a 5-year mentorship through secondary school

Character Building Through Behavior Transformation

The CSI-Plus programme supports students from challenging backgrounds by addressing moral and disciplinary issues. It starts with a 21-day Total Empowerment Camp (TEC) in Standard 6, focusing on communication, education, character building, and life skills. Upon entering secondary school, students receive continuous guidance through a 5-year mentorship (CSI-Plus) with workshops, counseling, character development, house visits, and field trips, both online and in-person.

Project Overview

Project overview

Importance of Behaviour Transformation

Low self-esteem causes non-assertive behavior, harming interpersonal relationships during the crucial teenage years. A lack of self-awareness and emotional intelligence further limits the ability to resolve conflicts, despite having academic intelligence. Additionally, poor life prioritization leads to unproductive habits and stress, impacting education, work, and overall life balance.

Importance of behaviour transformation

Why Behaviour Transformation

Behavioral Transformation is a 20-week program that helps teenagers break free from mental barriers like habits, biases, and fear of the unknown. It promotes innovative thinking and personal growth through weekly sessions focused on positive values, counseling, sports, and career guidance, particularly benefiting those from challenging backgrounds.

Why behaviour transformation

How Behaviour Transformation helps

This 20-week program helps teenagers build self-management, awareness, and emotional intelligence (EQ). Each week, participants learn to manage their emotions, boosting their EQ to better relate to their surroundings and positively influence others.

Sports

Outdoor activities like football, netball, silambam, and kabaddi engage students in positive, healthy ways while uncovering their talents. Weekly sessions with professional coaches foster discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. These sports also attract students to other important activities like character building, mentoring, and counseling at EWRF CSI Centers.

Mentoring

"Mentoring is to support and encourage people to manage their own learning so they can maximize their potential," — Eric Parsloe, The Oxford School of Coaching & Mentoring. EWRF CSI Facilitators serve as mentors, helping mentees navigate life and career challenges. By sharing similar experiences, mentors build supportive relationships based on trust, enabling mentees to explore career options and advance in their personal and professional lives.

Character Building Through Behavior Transformation

Civil Society Intervention (CSI) is a crime prevention program aimed at reducing crime rates and fostering positive attitudes among Indian youth. Over 20 weeks, students participate in character-building exercises, sports, and empowerment camps. This long-term approach offers more sustainable impacts than short-term interventions. Additionally, students engage in community service, such as visiting prisons, welfare homes, and rehabilitation centers, which helps raise social awareness and serves as a deterrent from criminal activities.
